BRIDE Ministries is known for journeying the untraveled, difficult, and sometimes downright weird road. From incredible stories of trauma, abuse, and the depths of the dark kingdom to intergalactic star fleets, off planet testimony, and alien abduction, we are not afraid to listen and  believe survivor accounts.

However, with all this higher realm spirit operation, it is very  important to understand a very basic foundation on which we stand: we cannot do anything without grace. Yes, we said it: grace.

Daniel Duval acknowledges the four theologically recognized definitions of grace:

  1. Grace is unmerited favor
  2. Grace is the finished work
  3. Grace is divine influence upon the heart
  4. Grace is God’s ability

We need to take these theologically sound and acceptable definitions of grace, and read them into the actual scriptures dealing with grace. The goal is to allow the Word of God to speak for itself, equipping us with tools for overcoming adversity. In fact, the study of grace is so profound that it will literally teach itself.

The following verse eloquently phrases it this way:

“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him (1 John 2:27).”

Interested in trying it for yourself? Use these verses:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8)

“For by unmerited favor are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”

“For by the finished work are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”

“For by divine influence upon the heart are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”

“For by God’s ability are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”

Grace is best understood not as a philosophy, but as a tool, equipping believers to be more effective in our walk with God. Holiness and righteousness is not our natural inclination; our inherent sin-nature drags us down. However, we receive the grace of God by faith to walk in victory over sin.
